Have you ever wondered how to edit videos and audio using professional editing tools? Or how to make impactful, striking, and eye-grabbing social media content? Well, on the 14th of November, IIUM.FM hosted an Audio-Visual Editing Workshop focusing on how to properly use an editing tool in order to create captivating content that would grab people’s attention
The workshop was held at the Multipurpose Room located in the M. Kamal Hassan Library. The host, Br. Muhammad Syahmi bin Zalani, is the technical advisor for IIUM.FM and was a former broadcast journalist for TV3. Through this, the students were able to learn from a professional in editing visual and audio. By joining this workshop, students also got access to Adobe software, a workbook, star points, refreshments, and an e-certificate.
The workshop started at 9 a.m., and participants were provided with a free breakfast. The first half of the workshop, which lasted until 12 p.m., was the video editing segment. Br. Syahmi taught everyone video editing basics, how to navigate the tools and panels of Adobe Premiere, how to cut and assemble clips, and how to use transitions and visual effects such as green screens for a more interesting video.
