IIUM.FM recently hosted RADEX 25, a four-day international program held in Jakarta and Bandung, aimed at exploring the evolving role of campus radio in today’s media landscape. Led by Mohamad Nur Huzeer Zakaria and advised by Zarita Kasim, the initiative brought students to visit top Indonesian campus stations—24Station (UNISBA), RCTUI FM (Universitas Indonesia), and MQ FM, a leading community radio.
Participants gained firsthand exposure to broadcasting strategies, digital innovation, and the challenges of keeping campus radio relevant. A key highlight was the cross-border podcast recording titled The Future of Campus Radio, which showcased the synergy between traditional radio and digital content creation. The program also emphasized the importance of social media, podcasting, and digital platforms in expanding reach and deepening listener engagement.
RADEX 25 proved that campus radio is far from obsolete—it’s evolving, collaborative, and increasingly global.
